A couple pics from 45 Three

After work today I popped into 45 Three on Fairfax (south of Wilshire Blvd. for those LA peeps) and of course they had great stuff, but nothing that’s on my list that I’m currently needing for my new digs.

If you live in the area you should totally stop in there.  They are having a sale and there are some really great pieces.

Here’s a few snaps I took.

Sneak peak at my bedroom.

Its taken me quite a bit of time to figure out the direction for my bedroom.  I knew I wanted a medium/dark gray on the walls, with white bedding and gold accents – but that was pretty much it.  My dresser is one of my favorite pieces of furniture, but it needed some oomphing.  So, this weekend – I got to work!!

Here is how I originally bought it (Craigslist).

Then… It got a good Kils priming coat…

To the finished product! I am going to be ordering a glass top for the top of it to protect it.  I don’t want to have to baby the dresser.

So, now it’s time to style it.  I have a few ideas swirling – right now I am playing with the idea of framing this vintage linen.  I have a few other ideas, I just can’t decide!!  I also wil be moving the vases, I just have them up for the time being.

Jadeite Love

I’ve been a fan of vintage milkglass for quite some time, but a recent spread in Martha Stewart has broadened my horizons and now I’m a huge fan.  Jadeite was really popular in the 50′s, and manufacturers like Fire King,  Jeannette, and McKee are the most desirable makers (if you are interested in collecting the good stuff).
Well…. My kitchen is my least favorite room in my home – and I think I’ve finally found the inspiration and direction the room is going to go in.  Here’s some great pics that hopefully will lead to my kitchen getting into great shape!

A beautiful collection o vintage jadeite and milk glass.

A stunning table setting using accents of jadeite.

I love these two small jadeite dishes with the gold feet. Quite elegant.

I came across this mint green painted cabinet in an antique mall in Long Beach. I am loving this color more and more as I come across it in different settings.

This kitchen is absolutely gorgeous. It's the inspiration for my kitchen right now. Love. (image via here)

Another piece of metal painted furniture that I came across at a long Beach antique mall. This color was very popular in the mid-century.

Emily Henderson’s Hot Pink Pursuit

Happy Monday lovelies!  I thought I’d start the week off with the most cheery-hot-pink living room I could find!

Emily Henderson (winner of HGTV Design Star) has serious style.  I hate to say this, but a lot of the designers on HGTV scare me, but definitely not Emily Henderson!  My taste is very similar to hers.  It’s eclectic, feminine and has a lot of vintage thrown in.

I think the living room below is her Los Angeles home.   I love the color of the walls paired with all of the gold accents.  You can tell that there are TONS of flea market and vintage finds every where!

The tufted sofa is so bright and fun, it totally acts like a showstopper. The gold etagre is so fun and a a piece of art on its own.  I wish you could see more of the bar cart in the right corner… it sure does look cute!

The opposite side of the room is toned done with more muted colors, with small accents of hot pink to carry the color story through.  The crystal chandelier is fantatic, and really draws your eye up to check out the amazing ceilng beams.

The sconces, pail pink draperies and the murano glass lamp are absolutely breathtaking.  It’s so feminine and chic in this room with so much eye candy.  I can totally picture a fab girls night here any night of the week!

My new (old) necklace.

I’ve been really wanting a tassel charmed necklace — and I finally found a vintage one!  I absolute love it! And (shocker) I also found it at the Long Beach Flea Market.

Vintage Framing Find!

Several years ago my best friend gave me a cut-out silhouette picture of my dog, Lincoln.  It’s one of my favorite things I own.  Anyway… I broke the frame it came in and FINALLY found a fabulous frame for it!

So – the frame below is similar to what I found (for some reason I can’t find the pic I took of it when I got it at the Long Beach Flea Market) It cost $5. Yep…  That’s it.  And I had a piece of glass cut for $5.  So inexpensive.  I can’t tell you enough…. flea markets and antique fairs have the BEST frames – and so cheap!!!

Here’s the finished product and I LOVE it!!  Doesn’t Mr. Lincoln look good?

And for the real deal:

A Day at the LB Flea Market!

Last weekend was the Long Beach Flea Market – and of course – there were some beautiful pieces!  The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and the perfect day to be outside.  Here are some of the thigs that caught my eye.

A clean lined mid-century desk. Really great condition. I wouldn't even consider painting it.

Looking to do a gallery wall? A flea market is your best (and most budget friendly) option to finding a bunch of beautiful, vintage pieces of art to mix together.

Isn't this faucet awesome? I remember seeing a similar fixture in one of Kelly Wearstler's books.

A collection of beautiful purple glass bottles. I think these would be so pretty down the center of a dining table with rose buds in them as a low centerpiece for a dinner party.

Beautiful table lamps.

A great pair of slipper chairs. These would look fantastic recovered.

I always see gorgeous Suzanis at this flea market.

This dealer was pretty neat. They had beautiful pages from books all in different categories. There were butterflies, botanical images, fruits..... They really would be great lined up in a series.

Large glass candy jars. I especially like the jar on the right.

Chandeliers can get expensive both of these larger crystal chandeliers were priced at $150 each, which is a really good deal for the pink one (on the right).

45 Three chic!

This afternoon I stopped into one of my favorite vintage furniture shops – 45 Three and of course – the store looked gorgeous with amazing little vignettes for customers to enjoy and be inspired by.  This specific set up blew me away, and half of it was already sold! :(

How gorgeous is the settee, side tables, bargello pillows, lamps, end tables…..  I could keep going!!

Well – if you live in LA – the store is on Fairfax just south of Olympic, take a peak for some fantastic inspiration, or a great find!!  (And – tell Staci you are friends with me!)

Recap from the Long Beach Flea Market!

I missed the Long Beach Flea Market last month – so I went on Sunday and it was such a lovely day.  The weather was perfection.  I wasn’t really looking for anything in particular.  I did look at the clothes, which I never do, and got a couple of dresses and a sequin jacket!  So fun!

Here were some things thought that I really did like that caught my eye.

This pair of chairs had such a great shape. They need some serious upholstering, but i just loved the structure and the cut out shape. Wouldn't they be amazing in a solid with a contrast piping, or a herringone print?

This pair of gold headboards were awesome. I absolutely loved them, If they were for a queen bed, I would've considered them.

This set of Royal Dalton china was in amazing condition, and the pattern was stunning.

Toile lamps! Even though the original paint job was in excellent condition, a nice solid coat of glossy white and a chic lamp shade really would be amazing for this pair.

A really cute wicker cabinet. I'd also love to see this painted. It would be a great piece for a foyer.

I loved this white leaf/toile-ish candelier. Pretty fantastic!

Loved these bow sconces. Thought they were so sweet, and would be great in just the right space.

And now to be a little disturbed…  There was a dealer selling Missoni for Target at the flea market.  I was absolutely appauled!!  Excuse me for saying this – but, what a douche bag move.  The dealer actually had something I was interested in, but once I saw what he was charging for the Target for Missoni pieces, I walked away.

DISTURBING SIGHT AT THE LB FLEA MARKET!!

Besides that, it was a fantastic day!!
