Changes!

Hello there my lovelies!! I hope I haven’t lost you!!  I am back.  Promise!!  The Glam Lamb is going to be taking a new focus and I hope you will stick around for the journey!

I am planning on moving!! I have lived in the Beverly Hills area for the past 4 years, and as much as my apartment is fantastic and spacious, the neighborhood isn’t for me!  So, with that being said – the Glam Lamb blog is going to switch gears to follow my journey of looking for a new place, the moving process, and decorating the new digs!

It’s either going to be Venice or Manhattan Beach!!  Anyone live in those areas with tips or suggestions – if so… Please do let me know!!

The canals of Venice Beach! Unreal!

OR

Manhattan Beach!!

My Summer Staple: Rockin’ the Denim Short-Shorts!

Yay!  It’s been consistently warm in LA!! I am like a kid in a candy shop.  This warm weather fills my soul. I know… A little dramatic – but I kid you not! The past 2 weeks I’ve been living in denim shorts and couldn’t be happier.  My faves for denim shorts are Current/Elliot (they do however stretch a little fast) and J Brand.  I also have a really cute pair from Forever 21.  They really do fit great, and don’t stretch like crazy.

My summer staple most definitely would have to be denim short-shorts.  What about you?  I’d love to hear what your “go-to” item is!

Love the Olsen Girls!! Image via Instyle.

An Amazing Summer Home in Texas.

Amy and Elizabeth Munger, the team behind Munger Interiors, designed this gorgeus beach house in Galveston, Texas to have a chic, contemporary, casual, and stress free vibe.  The entire home is designed with sunbrella fabrics, sisal floors, and with anything that can handle lots of guests, children, and a spill or two.  It’s an awesome space.

A casual, yet cool and fun living room.

A rustic chic dining table.

Beautiful skirted rectangle tables are a great option for night stands. There is great balance and symmetry in this room.

Another beautiful bedroom, love the detailed grosgrain on the roman shade, and the campaign dresser is awesome.

The perfect room for "3 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed!"

This bathroom has a Restoration Hardware vibe.

What a gorgeous deck.

Happy, bright, and bold beach towels.

Part 2 of the dining room!

The dining room/breakfast room is coming along – and here is where I’m at now.  What do you think?

The furniture is vintage Drexel that I painted a glossy white.  Not going to lie, painting furniture is a lot of work – but it isn’t really difficult.  You just need to be patient.  At the end of this post I have included easy tips for painting furniture.

The rug is from Ikea, the bird printed fabric is a vintage scrap that I fell in love with from the Long Beach Flea Market, and only had enough fabric to cover two chairs, so I went to F&S Fabric in Los Angeles to find a coordinating fabric for the other two chairs.

The next step is a window treatment and the centerpiece.

There are a ton of tutorials out there for painting furniture – and here’s my easay route.

1. I lightly sanded down the table and the chairs so that there weren’t any slick, shiny spots.

2. I then sprayed a light coat of Kilz primer. This step doesn’t need to be neat. I then waited a good 5 hours before going onto the next step.

3. Then, I spray painted with high gloss white spray paint – 2 even coats, waiting a good 5-6 hours in between coats. I also lightly sanded any spots that weren’t allowing the paint to lay evenly, and resprayed over that.

4. The next day a coat of clear coat when on top.

See! Easy! Just gotta be patient.

Great Chairs at the Fairfax Flea Market.

Every weekend I try to hit up some type of flea market, whether its Rose Bowl, Long Beach, or the quick and easy Fairfax.  Actually, it’s been a while since I’ve hit up the Fairfax High School parking lot so I went this past Sunday.  I fell in love with these chairs:

Fab, vintage, bamboo bar stools.

Chintz! LOVE!

Another awesome pair of vintage bar stools. Mid-century chic! These would be awesome recovered.
