“Her colors are pink and pink!” (Name that movie and I’ll give you a present! (SERIOUSLY!)
So – Pink. I am totally digging the color right now. Especially neon and super bright pinks. Its bold, unexpected, and sort of plays neutral.
Hope you are having a fantastic weekend. I have absolutely no complaints. Last night I had a fantastic girl’s night, and then woke up this morning to find out that the BF really hit up the gifting suites at Sundance and is bringing home some fab goodies :). Tonight I am hanging with my Lincoln, doing laundry, blogging, and just enjoying therelaxation of being home. Good stuff.
I just came across this living room, and I fell in love with the combination of colors, the mix of different period pieces, and mix of casual versus fancy-pants. Also, I am loving that hint of black and white stripe peaking out from the skirt of the sofa. The upholstery is insane.
Happy Friday Lovelies!!
It’s been a little while since I’ve blogged! So sorry for the lack of posts, but over the next few days I definitely will have more posts coming. My boyfriend is at the Sundance Film Festival and I am REALLY looking forward to a girl saturated weekend! This means: Hair color, girl’s dinner, shopping, manicure, blogging, chick flicks… Oh the list goes on.
I am also excited to share with you that I now have just over 1000 Pinterest followers! Thank you so much for following me. If you aren’t on Pinterest, please let me know and I can send you an invite!! You will be hooked!
This week’s favorite pins are great book shelf set ups. I am in the process of re-working the etagere in my living room, so of course I turn to Pinterest for inspiration. Here is what has caught my eye so far! What I love about all of these images is that they are homey and real without looking messy.
Just came across this fantastic girl’s bedroom and I love it, and had to share!
Love the walls; love the pendant lamp, love the uphostered bed, love the night stands…. Love it all!
Hope you are having a great week!
I hate to brag… but I have some seriously talented friends. I have to say…. I couldn’t be blessed with a more creative bunch. Speaking of one of these fabulous ladies is Lana Gomez. Lana’s art has been featured everywhere, even wrapped a Smart Car at Art Basel, so of course Interior Designer Jamie Drake would have caught his eye on her too for his showcase design at the Greystone Mansion.
The Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills is a beautiful home on some serious grounds. Its a now-public estate that has wonderful events throughout the year. For the majority of December Luxe Interiors + Design and the Greystone Mansion featured some of the worlds leading interior designers for a showhouse. Some of the designers included Barclay Butera, Barry Dixon, Nathan Turner, Mary Mcdonald….. Jamie Drake designed a living room for the event and featured Lana’s art and its amazing!
I took a LONG stroll through the Jonathan Adler store today on Melrose. That store puts me in the happiest mood. Jonathan Adler started his career as a crazy potter with a great sense for interior design. Well – you really should take a peak at his needlepoint pillows, because they are so fun and beautiful. He works with bargello, zigzag patterns, as well as funny sayings and tongue-in-cheek images. It’s whimsical fantastic – and if you haven’t checked out his pillow collection – you really should HERE
Have you read the JA coffee table book, My Prescription for Antidepressive Living? Well… If you haven’t you definitely should.
Here are several pics I snapped today of his gorgeous pillows. They are little pieces of art.
I love the look of layered frames, it gives a look that’s casual, boho, yet chic and stylish. For my own home (see bottom pic) I am always on the look out for the gold, vintage frames that would look well mixed together. The beauty of layering frames is that they look great when they all are cohesive and match, or mis-matched completely! You can really make it all your own.
Here are a few faves:
While my mom was in town visiting over the winter holiday, we went down to Abbott Kinney in Venice Beach and walked around to see some fantastic boutiques. If you aren’t familiar with Abbot Kinney – the next time you are in the Los Angeles area, you really should take a stop. It’s a fantastic street in Venice with a great, eclectic vibe mixed with some wonderful boutiques, art galleries, bars, restaurants…. I have to admit though that I do worry that Abbot Kinney could turn into the next Robertson Blvd. and become way to commericalized. Hopefully that won’t happen for a long time!
So – as I was saying, while walking around Abbot Kinney, my mom and I came across a great home accessories boutique: Bountiful. Mostly filled with cake plates, serve wear, and apothicary items; this place really has so much charm and an old-world feel to it. The store is quite layered and your eyes don’t know where to turn next, but there really are some special pieces. It made me totally want a bunch of cake stands to use for different things around my home besides serving a cake!! (A bathroom tray, a place in the foyer to place keys, a spot for holding on to jewelry….)
