Where to shop: Michael Levine – Downtown LA

A great place to get fabric is downtown Los Angeles, especially if you are looking for budget friendly.  So one of my favorite stops is Michael Levine. Have you been?  It’s great!  They have a ton of great fabric options including velvet, silk, sheers, fur, vinyl, plastic…. They also have a great selection of trims and tassels.  It’s a great spot, with a wide range.  If you haven’t been, I highly suggest it!  Their website has information on specials.
So – I was there a couple of days ago looking for fabric for my benches in my foyer and came across several things that really caught my eye.

A beautiful geometric in black, ivory and grey

Fun brights!

A beautiful and modern day floral. I love this color combination.

A bronzed basket weave vinyl. This would look awesome on kitchen bar stools. No stress about clean up!

Pom-Pom trim!

My favorite fabric... The metallic cheetah was only $24.95 a yard.

A wide range of nail heads.

My Upholsterer

I have received several emails in regards to my upholstered dining chairs…. I feel so bad I accidentally deleted someone’s email this morning from my blackberry… so hopefully you see this post!!

They are located in the San Gabriel Valley….. its a bit of a drive, but worth it if you are from LA or Orange County – he has great prices and does an amazing job. I have to be honest – I didn’t love their furniture – but they re-upholster perfectly!

The Ravenna Chair

Saw this chair at World Market and fell in love! I would love to have a chair like this either in my bedroom or living room. Love that it has no arms, and absolutely love the legs.

True Blue Baby I Love You

What beautifully upholstered chairs. And those blue hydrangeas are so happy. This is a very chic and pulled together look.

Is this the hundredth blog post about these?!?!

Alright… I’ve decided on an genre of color for the chairs. We are getting somewhere, people!!! We are looking in the jewel tone family. Something solid and rich. I wonder how long the swatches will be sitting. LOL. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Or, if you know of an amazing jewel tone fabric – let me know!
